Summer Financial Aid Steps

  1. File both a 2022-23 and 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

If you qualify for Federal Pell Grant during the summer, your Pell Grant could be awarded from either the 2022-23 FAFSA or the 2023-24 FAFSA

To be considered for the Federal Student Aid programs listed below for summer enrollment, you must have a processed (valid) 2022-23 FAFSA on file by June 30, 2023.

 

Federal Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant

Federal TEACH Grant

Federal Work-Study (FWS)

Federal Direct Loan (FDL)

Federal Direct PLUS Loan (PLUS)

Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan (Graduate PLUS)

 

If you are not enrolled during the summer but you want to work in a Federal Work-Study position during the summer, you must have a processed (valid) 2023-24 FAFSA on file.

  1. If applying for TEACH, complete TEACH Grant Initial and Subsequent Counseling and Agreement to Serve (ATS)

  2. If your parent is applying for PLUS, have parent complete a Direct Loan Application.

  3. If you are a graduate or professional student and you are applying for a Graduate PLUS Loan, complete a Direct PLUS Loan Application for Graduate/Professional Students.

 

Summer Financial Aid Eligibility Requirements

You must meet all other eligibility requirements, including admission to an eligible academic program, and the standards set forth in University Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
